Corinne Schroeder will be the new director of the Luxembourg National Archives from November 2026. She succeeds Josée Kirps, who is retiring at the end of the year.
On July 17, the Governing Council accepted the appointment of Corinne Schroeder as director of the National Archives of Luxembourg. Accordingly, on November 7, 2026, she will succeed Josée Kirps, who will retire at the end of 2026.
After her doctorate in history, art and archeology at the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Schroeder obtained a research master’s degree at the European University Institute in Florence as well as a special diploma for the interdisciplinary analysis of European integration.

Since 2011, she has been in charge of the Department of Contemporary History at the Luxembourg National Archives as a conservator. This institution secures, catalogs and researches documents of social, historical and cultural relevance. By providing these sources, the archive supports historical research and promotes the transparency of government actions.
