An AI avatar of late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be available to the general public later this summer after his family gave permission for the project. The news was announced by his wife Sharon and son Jack at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. In partnership with the company Hyperreal, a digital Ozzy Osbourne has been created, which will appear in patented life-size Proto Luma holoportation devices equipped with a volumetric display and conversational artificial intelligence.

“You can ask Ozzy anything you want and he’ll answer you in his voice – and the answers will be what Ozzy would say,” Sharon Osbourne said. Hyperreal CEO Remington Scott pointed out that “every element of the avatar is built exclusively from authentic, approved source material, controlled by the people who love it most.”

This is not Hyperreal’s first such project – last year the company created an AI avatar of Stan Lee for Los Angeles Comic Con. In the wider context of the so-called AI “resurrected” actor Val Kilmer will appear in AI form in the upcoming film “As Deep as the Grave”, which caused controversy, but was protected by his daughter Mercedes, BGNES recalls.
