Many things were written on the occasion of our participation in Eurovision! Many criticisms, many insults, many comments. Then the “pancake” turned and wishes for success began and it seemed that everyone became well-intentioned towards Dara and her participation!
This was written by pop star Nelly Rangelova, who wanted to comment on “something that no one talks about”.
“Do you know how a performer feels when he appears on a huge, world stage and has to compete with many singers from other countries? Do you know what it feels like when you hear your name and after it – Bulgaria? Most of you don’t know! Your heart rate is over 120, your hands are shaking, a feeling of insecurity overwhelms you, no matter how confident you are in yourself! All this is not only from the desire to prove yourself, but also from the fact that behind your name – Bulgaria!!!”, the singer wrote on her Facebook profile.
“If you support – support, no need for unnecessary comments”
“I’ve experienced all of this many times and I know what it’s like. When Dara was announced last night, it started happening to me again, as if I was in her place!! In such moments, physically and emotionally, singers are on the edge! Your pulse jumps more and more! Your heart beats and you feel like you’re “dying”. I can say with my hand on my heart that there are no “thick-skinned” naysayers in our profession! We are all deeply emotional and it affects everything!”, she also commented.
Neli Rangelova is adamant that Dara did an excellent job and even if she experienced all this, it was not apparent to her on stage.
“That’s what professionals do! Never forget that we are people like all of you! Vulnerable and emotional! But we don’t see it when we’re on stage! I say all this as a performer with over 45 years of career on our and the international stage! So.. what was the song, what did she look like, what was she dressed in, how was she chosen… All of this is irrelevant, because behind it is a Human! With soul, talent, beauty and emotions!”, writes Neli Rangelova.
According to her, sometimes a kind word and encouragement play a huge role in self-confidence and performance, no matter where or when.
“From my experience at the festivals, I can say that I hardly overcame all this 100%, regardless of the fact that I won! I still tremble to this day! We are the performers who are the face and soul of the song! We also endure negativity, but we receive love! So think a little and if you support – support! No need for unnecessary opinions and comments!! Good luck to Dara and Bulgaria in Eurovision 2026”, concluded Neli Rangelova.
