She told the viewers that her goal is to create an atmosphere of mutual sympathy and affection. Although she will fully appear on the screens in her new role only with the arrival of the autumn broadcasting structure, she invited viewers to watch the show already during the ongoing weeks.
“From September, the team of presenters of the Ladies’ Club show will be expanded by a new face. We believe that the presenter Erika Kandráčová together with Karin Majtánová will create a third pair attractive to the audience,” Slovak television reported for Aktuality.sk.
STVR adds that Soňa Müllerová will continue to be a stable part of the show, who will alternate with Erika alongside Karin.
From psychology to family cooking
Erika Kandráčová also revealed the range of topics she would like to cover in the broadcast.
Her ambition is to bring content that is based on her personal life and interests. As a mother of three children, she plans to draw on her parenting experience.
“I like to deal with children’s topics or topics that are related to children’s lives. Since they are of different ages and each period brings different challenges, I think there is a wide range that I can fully cover,” Kandračová explained.
In addition to parenting, she also wants to use her interest in psychology and gastronomy in the Ladies’ Club.
The shadow of Karin Majtánová’s political misstep
The arrival of Kandračová comes at a time when the show is mired in a controversy connected with its long-time constant Karin Majtánová. STVR just recently took a drastic step and pulled Majtánová off the air for a month:
The reason was her performance at the May Day celebrations in Bánovce nad Bebravou.
Majtánová moderated the action of the government party Smer, which the management of the public institution evaluated as inadmissible. The situation was also exacerbated by the moment at the end of the event, when the presenter received kisses from Prime Minister Robert Fico.
The management of STVR did not spare criticism in its official statement and described the behavior of its employee as a clear violation of internal rules.
“We consider the participation of a moderator or editor of STVR at a political meeting of any political party inappropriate and incompatible with the code of ethics,” the radio station reported.
Currently, Majtánová is represented by Andrea Chabroňová during the forced one-month break.
