Oscillations (vibrations) during operation of the internal combustion engine are an absolutely normal phenomenon. Although the car is in good working order, they are barely noticeable and hardly transfer to the bodywork. An exception is a slight resonance at low revs, which sometimes occurs when starting or stopping the power unit.
However, you should be aware that a noticeable shaking of the steering wheel, gear lever, pedals or all over the body already indicates a specific failure. As the expert notes, the reasons for this are not many, but each of them leads to expensive repairs.

According to experts, all the reasons can be divided into two camps: either the failure is related to the internal combustion engine itself, or to its mounting system. In the second case, the main culprits are the rubber-metal mounts that connect the engine to the body.

Problems with them happen due to three things: low-quality repairs, natural wear or installation of cheap analogues instead of original spare parts. Over time, the rubber in the engine mounts becomes rougher, loses elasticity and stops suppressing vibrations in the normal way. Some cars have fluid inside such mounts. And if one of them breaks and this fluid leaks out, unpleasant vibrations begin to spread directly to the body.
