La Banque et Caisse d’Épargne de l’État announced this Wednesday its entry into the capital of Qivalis, a European banking consortium dedicated to the development of a stablecoin denominated in euros, in accordance with the European regulatory framework. The objective of the development of this stable cryptocurrency is to support secure, efficient and scalable digital payments on a European scale, details the press release.
La Spuerkeess is not the only one to have joined this consortium: with this new membership, Qivalis now brings together 12 founding banks as well as more than 30 European financial institutions. “We are delighted to welcome 25 new partners within the Qivalis consortium”, said Jan-Oliver Sell, the CEO of Qivalis. “This expansion marks a giant step towards an ecosystem on-chain open and compliant for the euro”, he continued.

Designed to meet high standards of transparency, security and regulatory compliance, stablecoin will fully comply with the framework of the European regulation MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets), which establishes common rules for digital assets within the European Union, assures the press release.
“Joining Qivalis is a key step in our strategy in terms of digital assets,” said Aly Kohll, director of operations at Spuerkeess.
The launch of stablecoin a euro is envisaged for the second semester of 2026, subject to the necessary regulatory authorizations.
